Breeding
The Shamrock Shorthorn herd is a combination of registered and commercial females capitalising on years of breeding with the best available sires to produce a top quality product for today’s market.
The Shamrock registered herd consists of 40 autumn calvers while the remaining registered females along with the commercial herd calve in July August. This split calving allows for the best use of sires and also helps to maintain a constant supply of young bulls year round.
A comprehensive AI program is undertaken within the registered herd backed up by outsourced sires and ‘home grown’ bulls produced via our AI program.
(Sires currently in use can be seen at Sires & Semen).
